How do I Find my Ethereum address?

If you want to find out your address you type in “eeth.coinbase”. This should look like this “ C:/>eth.coinbase”. Press enter and you should see your address appear – which is a long string (set of characters and numbers – to find out how your address is generated and about private and public keys see our guides here).

How do I Check my Ethereum balance?

To check your balance, all you need is your public Ethereum address. This is 42 characters long and begins with an ‘0x….’. Be aware that when checking ETC balances, you should use an Ethereum Classic blockchain explorer instead, such as Gastracker.io.

Does hex address have a checksum?

The standard 40 character hex addresses now have a checksum in the form of capitalization. If the address has at least one capital letter then it is checksummed and, if inputted on a site that checks the sum, it will return false if it's not a valid address.
